Lima is the capital city of Peru situated in western South America. Public transportation system in Lima serves the people well but it must not be compared with transport system in USA or Europe. In general international tourists complain of the quality of transport as well as its management.

The gray bus system is known as Metropolitano bus system which run on natural gas. These buses have a dedicated lane when they use the metropolitan highway. Taxi in Lima is a good alternative but taxi drivers are somewhat from special part of the planet. They can be helpful and rude at the same time, all depends on his mood. The railway part in Lima is a different story. It was designed based on freight needs instead of passenger needs. Ferrocarril Central del Perú or FCC is the Central Railway started in history as old as 1851. It links capital Lima with port of Callao. Beaches in Peru

Peru in South America is known for having some very nice hot spots that are fit for tourism. There are many nice and eye-catching beach destinations on the western coastline. Central Coast Beaches

At the center of Peru is the Lima city in the country’s coastline. There are many beaches at the large city which can be reached within an hour from the city. Northern Coast Beaches

There are very fine beaches in the northern coast that have big waves and a good and warm weather. When you arrive at the port of Chimbote, there is the popular Playa Tortugas beach. For a much calm place, you can head further north and find beaches like Pimental and Santa Rosa. There are also the very attractive pristine resort beaches far north of Peru.

 Southern Coast Beaches

There are very few known beaches in the southern coast. The Paracas Peninsula has a National Reserve that has very diverse marine bird species. There is the colonial beach village of Mollendo which is the most attractive beach in the southern coast of Peru.

When to Travel

From December to April, Peru experiences the summer season. That is the best time to visit the beaches which are very hot and dry at this time. From May to October is the winter season with sea mist and very cool temperatures. The northernmost beaches of Peru are often the ones that are warm and perfect for swimming throughout the year.
